RACE SUPERSERIES RACE Series Round 7 Preview
09/21/05 SHANNONVILLE, ON — The RACE Super Series wraps up this weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park with several championships still to be decided. Frank Trombino's recent injuries at a WERA event at Nelson Ledges will take him out of the bid for the Pro 600 championship, but Trombino's 55 point lead over Honda's Jordan Szoke was enough to secure the Pro Superbike Championship and retain his #1 plate for 2006. Kawasaki's Matt McBride is leading the Pro 600 championship with a 27 point margin over Honda mounted Andrew Nelson. With 28 points available, Nelson still has a mathematical chance at the championship. The battle for the Amateur Superbike Championship is very close with James Collins having a slim 2 point lead over Mark Douglas. Douglas needs only 1 point to secure the Amateur 600 championship over Collins. Alain Lefebvre is leading the SV Cup championship with 98 points over Karl Daigle's 83 points. The Middle Weight Sportsman championship points spread is a little closer with Daigle leading it over Lefebvre with 84 points and 76 points respectively. RACE Superseries practice begins this Friday, September 23 with heat races on Saturday and final races on Sunday. |
