Track Improvements at AMP

10/31/05 SCHUBENACADIE, NS — Partial track repaving has been completed at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Nova Scotia, smoothing out some of the bumpiest portions of the circuit. From a message posted in the Cherrypicker forum by Andrew Murray, President of AMCRA:

“As everyone is aware AMP was planning on paving the track from Turn 3 to Turn 4 at the end of next season. Following the Parts Canada Superbike Rounds held at AMP, concerns surrounding this area of the track were borught to our attention. The AMCRA Executive has been in continued contact with the Parts Canada Superbike Series and we feel it is imperitive to have the paving completed prior to the next National event. Furthermore, in order to have the pavement cure properly the paving should be completed this Fall.”

“We have sought the expertise of people in the industry and they all agree that using a pavement cap (rather than digging up the original pavement) will be sufficient in our race environment. The capping process will involve a layer of payment be laid and feathered at the transisitons. Using this process, we have been able to pave the following sections:

From the exit of Turn 3, to Turn 4, and a section in Turn 5.“

“We are extremely excited about getting these improvments completed this Fall and we’re confident in the process involved.”

Thanks,
Andrew Murray
